about

The American band TALAMASCA was formed in 1993, as a direct continuation of a band called Astoria. This earlier incarnation of
the band basically imploded when guitarist and keyboardist
Robert Carpenter left, and rather than directly recruiting a replacement Brita Rae Borough (guitars, sitar), Nancy Kaye (vocals), Dave McClelland (bass, percussion, guitars) and Brian Young (drums) opted for a change of name and a subtle alteration in style to boot, recruting Nissa Madsen (sax, recorder, vocals) as an additional member.
