about

Writer, essayist, philosopher, teacher and musician Italian.
His writings deal of history, philosophy, education, school
and topical.
As a musician he founded in 1977 the progressive rock
band ATON'S, which until its dissolution, which occurred
in 2000, has produced six albums and has been one of
the target groups of the new prog Italian international.
The entire repertoire of the band is the result of the
composition of RATTO, guitarist and singer who, towards
the end of the experience ATON'S, began to record as
a solo artist, producing a total of three albums.
As an essayist and writer, as well as many articles
on the net, he has published four books and some
of his short stories have won several literary awards.

He was responsible for everything we hear in the album,
from the drum-, guitar-, keyboard parts and programming
to the mixing and production.
Ratto had been an excellent composer and singer, as
heard in his works with Aton's, and ''Xenia'' is just another
proof of his talent.
While the album suffers from some robotic sounds
without doubt, the music ranges from good to extraordinary,
following the trend of Aton's albums with less keyboard
colors and more emphasis on Ratto's main instrument,
the guitars.
As a result, it's less symphonic and more Neo Prog-ish
of an effort with the electric solos and folky acoustic
passages shining through, supported by dreamy keyboards.
Ratto released also a couple of more personal albums,
''Il folle'' and ''Metafisica'', both came out in 2008.
